Hospice Huronia continues to grow and serve even more people throughout our region which has prompted the hiring of a new member of the leadership team.

“A very intense search for the perfect person to guide our team into the next phase at Hospice Huronia led us to Stacey Cooper of Penetanguishene,” said Debbie Kesheshian, executive director.

“Stacey brings healthcare experience along with a long career in municipal government and will truly round out our exceptional team of professionals.”

In November of this year, Hospice Huronia will celebrate their 30th year serving the North Simcoe Community with their Visiting Volunteer program for those with a life limiting illness. This program sees screened, trained and supported volunteers companioning in people’s homes, retirement and long term-care homes. The grief and bereavement programs have also been supporting people with both one to one support and groups. These programs have grown significantly since opening Tomkins House in 2020 and they are poised to care for even more people.

Kesheshian said, “Stacey will lead our community team and take on much of the day to day operations at Tomkins House. This will allow me to focus externally to raise awareness, create partnerships and advocate for a palliative approach to care and exceptional grief and bereavement support for those who need us. Our team is thrilled to welcome her to our family.”

The Board of Directors set forth a bold strategic plan this past year and the director of operations and community programs will be leading the way to achieve their goals.

"I'm absolutely thrilled to join the incredible team at Hospice Huronia," said Stacey Cooper. "As a local resident, I continue to be deeply committed to serving our community and supporting families during challenging times."

When not at work, Stacey enjoys paddleboarding at one of our many local beaches, travelling, riding her bike, and spending time with family and friends.

If you would like a tour of Tomkins House and hear more about our future, please contact Stacey Cooper by email or call 705-549-1034.
