Tiny bylaw’s department certainly was busy this past weekend.

From Friday to Sunday, township bylaw officers were on full patrol responding to calls ranging from parking, noise and dogs.

All totalled, officers laid 87 charges for various parking offences and three others for allowing a dog on Balm Beach during the peak summer season. The contingent patrolled nearly 300 kilometres via bicycles and responded to 32 complaints.

And with the Labour Day long weekend just around the corner, the township reminds residents that its fireworks bylaw prohibits the display of and setting off of fireworks outside of Victoria Day, Canada Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Anyone noticing a neighbour setting off fireworks can call the Municipal Law Enforcement department at (705) 526-4204.

Non-compliance may result in the issuance of a warning, a charge with fines ranging from $365.00 to $100,000 or a summons to appear in court.
