1-Dec-1936 - 22-Jan-2025

Louis was born on December 1, 1936 one of 13 siblings. Parents were Joseph Cadeau a French, Canadian Ojibwe and Ethel Columbus of Irish descent who were married in 1923.

Louis had a hunting accident in 1947, a bullet went through his neck and out his carotid artery. The doctor thought he would not survive or ever walk again. He proved them wrong and not only walked but worked hard. He worked at the foundry in Penetang, then went sailing on the Great Lakes as a wheelman, hauling grain and iron ore, on one of the biggest steam ships named TR McLaggon. Later Louis started to work for Hoffarts Christmas tree farm as a supervisor in the field.

We got to live a normal life with hunting, fishing, camping, boating and using the trails with the ATV and snowmobiles. The things he really cared about were our many trips to Florida and Cuba.

Louis is survived by his beloved wife Rose Cadeau (Mailloux). He will be lovingly remembered by his extended family and friends.

A Memorial mass will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Penetanguishene.
