Passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at his home - Christian Island, Ontario at the age of 62.
Duncan of Christian Island, formally of Midland. Beloved husband of Mary-Lou Carruthers (nee Monague) for over 36 years. Loving dad of Katlyn Carruthers, Rebecca (Shane) Marchildon, late Andrew Carruthers and Cheryne Roote. Cherished Papa of Dustyn, Jonathan, Sabrina, Eli, Harlen and Hailee. Caring brother of Christine (Ken) Archer, Bill Carruthers, Jennifer Farrell, Chris Carruthers and Jessica (Larry) Ford. Duncan is predeceased by his parents James Carruthers, Patricia Carruthers (nee Vallee) and Step Mom Nancy Carruthers (nee Desrochers). He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends on and off the Island.
Friends are invited to join the family on Thursday, May 23, 2024 for a visitation starting at 2pm at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER Church - 62 Kate Kegwin Street. East, Christian Island, Ontario and again on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 12pm for the Funeral Mass. The burial will take place at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery following the service. Friends are invited to the BEAUSOLEIL FIRST NATION RECREATION CENTRE - 100 Hundred O’Gemaa Miikan, Christian Island, Ontario for the reception following the burial. If desired, donations can be made to Niijii Fund and would be greatly appreciated by his family.
