Passed away peacefully at Grey Gables, Markdale on July 2, 2024 in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the late Pauline (formerly Lyon, née Paul). Loving father of Maureen Jacklin (Roger Hobbs). Dear Step-Father of Katherine Doyle (John) and Michael Lyon (Aimee). Grandpa of Kevin Hale (Nicole) and Julia Hale. Granddad of Clare Doyle (Owen), Rachel Doyle and Nicholas, Ella and Quintin Lyon. Great Grandpa of Cora Hale. Loving uncle of Carol Ann Rhody (Allan), Sandy Leroux (Leo), Gale Polfuss (John) and Grant Frook (Catherine). Predeceased by his sister Isabel Frook and her husband Ron. Missed by many great nephews and nieces. Special mention to Warren’s dear friends, Mel and Linda Woods and the entire Woods family.

Warren was born to Victor and Anna Jacklin of Hanover in 1926. Warren ventured from Hanover when he joined the army, which allowed him to pursue education at the University of Toronto, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree and his teachers diploma. He returned to Hanover to begin his teaching career and later moved to Midland where he was the head of the science department at Midland Secondary School. Warren had an instrumental part in the creation of the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre. His passion for wildlife was often seen in his stunning wildlife paintings and artwork. Although Warren retired from teaching in 1982 his desire to continue to educate us all never ended. His favourite subject being that of the natural world and universe. Combining all his revered subjects- physics, chemistry and biology.

On Sunday June 30th Warren was able to have one last visit to his Grey County home which he built with Pauline that was fondly referred to as ‘Shangri La’.

At Warren’s request, no service will be held and cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre-https://give.stratly.com/wye-marsh-wildlife-centre/campaigns/donation or a nature centre of your choosing would be greatly appreciated.
