On Monday, December 14th, 2020, Alan Robert Potter was called home at the age of 64. The world has lost a great son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Alan was born in York County, Ontario, on June 28th, 1956, to parents Sheila Graham and Jack Potter. A long-time resident of Etobicoke, Ontario, where Alan was the manager at the Humber river apartments. In the early 2000's Alan landed his dream job working with the city of Mississauga for 10+ years, where he was a heavy machine operator and was part of the emergency response team until his retirement. In 2015 Alan purchased his first home in Penetanguishene, Ontario, with his wife, Gail. He is remembered by his soul mate Gail, Daughters Lisa Hutchings (Scott), Tammy Hicks, Son Hugo Hicks (Colin), Grandchildren Rachele-Mae, Mackenzie, Samantha, Tabitha, Ashley, Erik, Jay, Tyler and Heleyna. His memory will be shared lovingly with his six great-grandchildren; and remembered by his Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins for eternity. The family would like to send their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Georgian Bay General Hospital staff and the nurses of the palliative care unit. The family would appreciate donations to the Georgian Bay General Hospitals Palliative Care Unit in place of flowers. Cremation has taken place as per Alan's wishes, and a memorial will take place later.
