Bill passed away peacefully at Tomkins House Hospice, surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the age of 73 years.
Beloved husband of Cindy Thorne, his soul mate and the love of his life.
Loving father of Kennth Thorne and his wife Victoria, loving grandfather of Asher.
Bill’s father was a Park Warden and the source of his love of nature. Bill was a Scouter. He was also very active in various RC Airplane clubs, an avid photographer and radio amateur, VE3IDC.
Bill retired from teaching shortly before becoming ill but as a High School Teacher he always had his students interest at the forefront of everything he did. For 15 years he supported two high school robotic teams and traveled with them to many North American competitions.
He will be lovingly remembered by his extended family and friends.
Many thanks to the caring staff at Tomkins House, Georgian Bay Hospital and Royal Victoria Hospital and all the PSW’s that came to help.
In lieu of flowers, candles, etc. memorial donations to Tomkins House Hospice Huronia would be appreciated by the family.
