With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Paul Whelan on February 14, 2025. Paul was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend to many.

He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Mary (Duthie), his sister Elizabeth (Betty), and his twin brother John. He is survived by his siblings Michael (Barb), Larry (Elfie), and Terri, as well as his six nieces and nephews and four grand-nieces, all of whom will cherish his memory.

Paul spent many years working on the lakes of Georgian Bay with the Trudeau family, whom he fondly referred to as his second family. They embraced him as one of their own, sharing not just work but also time fishing, hunting, and celebrating family moments together.

Known for his quiet and gentle nature, Paul was always willing to lend a hand—not only to family and friends but also to neighbors and strangers. He put his heart into everything he did, never expecting anything in return. His kindness and generosity touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Huronia Hospice - Tomkins House in Penetanguishene.

Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Penetanguishene
