Sixth Avenue was closed between Cedar Street and Pine Street after a shooting on May 7, 2024.

The second suspect in an attempted murder in Timmins last month has been arrested.

The shooting happened on May 7 around 6:30 a.m. on Sixth Avenue between Pine and Cedar streets. Shortly after, there was a crash connected to the incident that happened in the Maple Street North and Seventh Avenue area.

One man was shot and brought to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

On May 11, OPP pulled over a vehicle in Timmins and the two men in the vehicle were identified as the shooting suspects.

One of the suspects — 20-year-old Juelz McRae — was arrested during the traffic stop and charged with attempted murder, numerous firearms offences, and charges relating to the crash. The second suspect fled on foot and evaded police until last week.

With the help of Nottawasaga OPP — which covers the south Simcoe County area of New Tecumseth, Essa and Adjala-Tosorontio — 22-year-old Keisaun Robertson of Beeton was arrested on May 27.

He is charged with attempted murder and numerous firearms offences, said Timmins Police.

None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
