A driver’s good intentions led to a three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon near Port Severn, according to police.
Southern Georgian Bay OPP said the crash happened “due to a motorist stopping on the highway to avoid striking a turtle, which did not survive.”
The collision occurred on Highway 400 North, between Port Severn and Quarry roads, north of Waubaushene.
The road has since reopened, and police say charges are pending.
