Police are investigating four incidents of thefts from vehicles in the area.

Between 9 a.m. Monday and 4 p.m. Tuesday, Southern Georgian Bay OPP responded to four calls about personal property — wallets and purses, mostly — being stolen from unlocked vehicles parked at homes in the Midland, Penetanguishene and Tiny areas.

Investigators determined some of the victims’ credit cards had been used to commit other crimes.

“As investigators zero in on the suspects, they also stress that you need to remove valuables such as wallets (and) purses and lock your vehicle to help prevent these crimes of opportunity from occurring in our community,” police said in a news release.
