Police are investigating a homicide at a Midland residence.
Shortly before 1 p.m. Monday, emergency crews responded to a call for service at a home on Seventh Street. Police officers located one person deceased. Another person was taken to hospital before being transferred to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries.
A postmortem examination will take place at the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto.
Police believe it is an isolated incident, but they urge residents “to be aware of their surroundings and remain vigilant of their personal safety at all times.”
