Police release names of accused in Midland police pursuit

Four people charged after incident Friday that led to large police presence and a hold-and-secure at local school

Police have released more information about a pursuit of a vehicle that occurred Friday, including the names of the accused and the charges they face.

Police say a driver fled Southern Georgian Bay OPP in a vehicle that had been reported stolen. The incident spawned a large police presence and sparked a hold-and-secure at a Midland elementary school. Three people were arrested later the same day.

In a news release issued Monday, police noted four people have been charged.

Rachel McCartney, 35, no fixed address, Midland, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, dangerous operation, obstructing a peace officer, failure to comply with a release order (other than to attend court), operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs), flight from a peace officer, possession of a Schedule 1 substance (methamphetamine), and driving while under suspension.

Jesse John Raymond Adair, 32, of Essa Township, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, failure to comply with a probation order (two counts), and flight from a peace officer.

Justin Richard Lewis Jackson, 35, of Midland, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (two counts), theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle, operation while prohibited, failure to comply with a probation order, break and enter a place (commit indictable offence), theft under $5,000, and flight from a peace officer

Blair Edward Ross Clare, 31, of no fixed address, Midland, was arrested during the investigation on outstanding warrants.

All of the accused were held for bail hearings.
