Tiny Twp. driver charged after crash on Hwy. 12 involving four vehicles

TAY TOWNSHIP – A four-vehicle crash shortly after 3 p.m. today has resulted in charges for an area resident.

Police said one driver was taken to hospital but their injuries were not considered life-threatening.

At around 3:12 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to the intersection of Fraser Lane and Highway 12 in Tay Township along with Tay Township Fire Service and County of Simcoe Paramedics.

Paramedic crews triaged one driver who was transported to an area hospital.

Police said the investigation so far has resulted in a charge of careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act against a 39-year-old Tiny Township resident.

Investigation into the cause of the crash continues and will be reported when available, Southern Georgian Bay OPP said in a news release.
