Two locals charged with impaired driving over the weekend

Both drivers received 90 day driver's licence suspensions and the vehicles they were driving have been impounded for seven days

Two locals are facing impaired driving charges after incidents over the weekend.

At around 12:14 p.m. Saturday, Ontario Provincial Police were called out to Scott Street in Midland.

They were told a westbound driver hit a parked vehicle.

After speaking with the driver and witnesses, officers charged 53-year-old Heide Lailonnie Hanse of Midland with operation while impaired - blood drug concentration.

Then at 5:42 p.m. on Sunday, OPP officers were called to a Perkinsfield residence. 

“While there the officers received a report of a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner and shortly after a vehicle matching the provided description drove by, then returned and parked in an aggressive manner at the officers location,” said OPP in a news release.

Brittany Sugden, 40, of Tiny Township has been charged criminally with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
