Victoria Harbour man facing impaired, drug charges after traffic stop

A man is facing impaired and drug charges after he was pulled over Thursday night for driving with his high beams on in Orillia.

Just after 10 p.m., Orillia OPP officers were on patrol in the area of Coldwater Road and Emily Street when a vehicle approached them with its high beams on. While police were conducting a traffic stop, the vehicle hit the curb, according to a news release. Police determined the driver was impaired and was on a suspension not to drive for the past 21 years.

Christopher Leduc, 46, of Victoria Harbour, has been charged with operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs), failure or refusal to comply with a demand, and possession of a Schedule 1 substance (cocaine).
