Marilyn May (McCallum) Dalton.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful, fun-loving Mother - our Queen Marilyn Dalton (Aunt Fuzzy) on Wednesday Sept 11th, 2024, at home in her 89th year. She is now reunited with her husband Robert Dalton (predeceased).

She leaves behind her children Michele Herbert (Alan), Vince Gauthier (Bonnie), Suzette Duquette (Mike), Marjorie Dubeau (Ken), Ron Dalton (Diane). Loving Grandma of Jeff (Jen), Ryan (Mathilde), Leah, Brooklyn, Chantal, Abigail, Gregory, Korey (Janelle), Grant (Charlotte), Brianne (Robert), Jadyn, Allyssa. Great Grandma to Mia, Jackson, Walter, Samuel, Sophie, Adèle and Elliott. Daughter of William and Esther McCallum (both pre-deceased). Sibling to James McCallum (predeceased), Robert McCallum (Esther), Jane Rypan (Jerry), Michael McCallum (Candice).

Loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews whom she adored. Wonderful friend to so many.

Mom passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and her two lifelong friends Fran Moreau and Alice French, while we prayed and sang, as she left the earth to meet our loving Merciful Jesus. Marilyn was born on May 3rd, 1936, at home by her uncle Dr Archie McCallum, bringing her into this world. She lived the majority of her life in Waubaushene, Midland and Penetang. Mom was a Martyrs Shrine Girl with Fran, and they had many stories to tell, especially as teenagers. Her early years were difficult as she raised three children on her own, but it made her faith grow and a will to do more. She found love again later with Robert and returned to school to become a nurse. Mom was an amazing volunteer at Hospice, Power Squadron, Canadian Diabetes, visiting elderly and sick with her therapy dog and co-founder of Al-Anon in the Midland area. Her passion and love was nursing at the Penetang General Hospital until she retired in the late nineties.

Marilyn loved boating with Robert on Georgian Bay on their William Esther, camping, reading, doing puzzles, knitting and having fun participating in many “mock weddings” at Jack & Jills. Marilyn was a funny, loving woman who knew how to make people laugh and feel her love. Mom, you were a 2nd Mom to so many of our friends and relatives. You were and always will be our Queen Matriarch. We know you are with Pa (Robert) now and keeping him entertained. You will be missed by so many.

Thank you to all of her friends, neighbours and staff at Georgian Village, who made Mom’s last few years so special. A special acknowledgement to: Patti Belanger (niece), who was like a daughter to Mom, Bayshore nurses Angela and Natasha, PSW’s Andrea, Ava and all of the staff. Dr Julie Caron provided such supportive and amazing care as Mom’s palliative care Dr. We would also like to thank Meals on Wheels and their extra concern for Mom, along with Krystal & Amber at CCAC and Krystal at Vital Air.

We miss you so much already.

If desired a memorial donation can be made to Hospice Huronia - Tomkins House, The Martyrs Shrine or St. Margaret's Church.
