7-Oct-1942 - 14-Sep-2024

It is with deep sadness and much love that we announce the passing of Frank Nolte on Sept 14, 2024. He was a wonderful Dad ("Papi") to Sylvia Rondelez (Johnny) and Michael Nolte (Laura). Best Opa/Opi ever to Gabriella, Garin, Lukas, Joscelin and Carter.

Frank was born in Rostock Germany on Oct 7, 1942 to Ingeborg (Balke) and Wilhelm Nolte. Big brother to his late sister Marion (Geschwender) and brother Andreas Nolte. Missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

After marrying he immigrated to Canada as an Engineer in the hopes of forging a new path and providing his family with new opportunity. He proudly opened his own business Olympia Controls Ltd and operated it with family for 30 years. He realized his dream of sharing his love for the country life when he moved his family to a hobby farm south of Lindsay. Many years later he found his way to Midland where he retired and often commented he found his piece of heaven.

Frank's favourite hobby was making wine, especially from dandelions and blue berries. He was talented with music, playing the violin, harmonica and organ. He cherished the close friendships formed at his German clubs, St Marks, the choir and the mens breakfast club.

We will forever miss our special time with Opa, his Kaffee und Kuchen, his famous German cheese cake and his calm advice. Rest in Peace.

St Marks Anglican Lutheran Church in Midland will host the visitation at 10am followed by the service at 11am on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Internment will be in Lindsay at Riverside Cemetery at 3pm. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers and donations, Frank's family encourages everyone to take time to find peace in nature, cherish family and enjoy a piece of German cheese cake.
